Started going down the rabbit hole of DPC latency, but even without the Focusrite installed or being used, I get 4 ms of highest DPC routine execution time for nvlddmkm.sys - NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 471.11. Tried a couple of driver wipes and reinstalls, too. I have tried other Sample Rates and Buffer Sizes, to no avail. Is there any downside to not using the Focusrite ASIO driver if I am not using a DAW and just using the Scarlett for videoconferencing input and output? But of course this is a suboptimal solution since I cant use the device to its full potential in a DAW. Uninstalling the USB driver and relying on the built-in WDM driver fixes this problem and makes the device usable for Zoom/Discord/gaming/general use. The only post I found that reported something close to this was: I get a similar result if I try selecting the Scarlett as my input device in Zoom or Discord, e.g. Videos begin to buffer, my keyboard starts to function only intermittently, and my mouse lags across the screen, etc. any audio output causes my entire machine to stutter, lag, and generally become unusable. When they are installed, simply selecting "Speakers (4- Focusrite USB Audio)" as my playback device and then playing Spotify, YouTube, etc. However, Focusrite Control and the associated USB ASIO driver are completely unusable on my Windows 10 machine. No issues with using the device on the macOS machine, although I am mostly only using it for a nice dynamic mic input for Zoom/Discord and Spotify output (i.e. This example uses a Scarlett USB Interface so 'Focusrite USB' is selected as the device. Click the dropdown menu next to Device, and select your audio interface. Been using it on both a macOS and a Windows 10 machine, switching the device between the two with a USB 3.0 switch/hub (the problems I have been experiencing on the Windows PC occur also when plugged directly into the motherboard's USB 3.0 port). With your audio interface connected please navigate to the Audio Mixer > Mic/Aux > Click the Settings button (small gear cog symbol) > Properties. ![]() I have been enjoying my new Scarlett for a few weeks now.
